Mathy Puzzles are printable puzzle sheets for children aged 4 to 12. Each puzzle page has free sets to print, a worked example and the answers. Here is how to begin.

1Pick a level

LevelAgesUS gradesPuzzle types
Level 14–6Pre-K–K41
Level 26–8Grades 1–265
Level 38–10Grades 3–472
Level 410–12Grades 5–666

Not sure? Start one level lower. It's easy to move up.

2Print your first free set

Each free set: a Learn sheet with a worked example, 10 puzzles and the answers. Letter or A4.

3Sit with your child

  • Read the rule out loud together. Then let your child try first.
  • Ask "How do you know?" instead of saying right or wrong.
  • Stuck? Do the example on the Learn sheet together, then come back.
  • Answers are at the back. Check together at the end.
  • Stop while it's still fun. One or two puzzles is a good day.

4Get new puzzles every Sunday

Finding the puzzles your child loves

With over 100 puzzle types, the easiest way to explore is the Sunday email. Each week it brings a mixed set of different puzzles at every level, so your child can try many kinds at their own pace.

  • A favorite? Give more of it. Every puzzle has its own page with free sets, and members get many more sheets of it.
  • A struggle? Try the same puzzle one level lower, then come back up.
  • Not this week? Skip it. Next Sunday brings different puzzles.
